Frontier Series: Frames of Mind

Artistic Director, Danielle Genest presents Newport Contemporary Ballet’s Frontier Series program, Frames of Mind. Through the lens of dance and the visceral connection live performance makes with audiences, this dynamic evening of work takes a unique look into the mind and examines the connection between movement and memory.

The program will begin with powerful and riveting works by Mark Harootian and Rodney Rivera. Steady Grip by Harootian delves into the process of collecting oneself after the stresses and anxieties of life seem to take over. His piece encompasses the introspective journey of “returning to a new life” after unexpected events. Rivera’s work, Memoria y Vidrio, highlights the significance of memories and beauty of family whether it be whole, broken, new, or old.
