Newport Elections | Top of the Hill

Hi Everyone! I met our Election Adminstrator, Hugh Moren, last evening and he followed up with some helpful information regarding our local elections. His note trails below along with his contact information should you have any questions.

It looks like the Second Ward will again only have one candidate. Charlie Holder is going to Run At Large and Lynn Ceglie is going to run unopposed in our Ward...unless someone declares before June 26th - milestone dates below. There's also helpful information about working the polls.

I’m attaching some poll worker recruitment info. If you could distribute it to the Top of the Hill Association and your network, I would appreciate it.

Depending on timing of any communication, other useful dates to communicate to the public are:

Declaration period for candidates is June 24, 25, and 26th until 4:00 p.m.
Last day to register to vote for the Primary is August 11th.
Mail ballot applications are due to the Canvassing Office by 4:00 p.m. on August 20th
Early Voting for the Primary begins August 21st in the Second Floor Conference Room of City Hall
Primary Day – September 10th
